Things we've done this summer!

Welcomed Home Glen!

Loved Uncle and Brother and Son!
After a year over seas serving his country!

Made a mad dash right from the airport with Glen and my parents to and family to Northern Idaho, for my grandfathers funeral16 hours of driving one way with 7 people in one vehicle, not my idea of a good time, but we still managed to find something fun to do and were very happy to catch up with Glen.

A squirrel we found to feed along the way.

Starting in June the kids and I along with grandma, have go to the weekly kids movies at the local theater, its a nice treat, and the kids love it. Most of June was work to get ready for the July Midsummer Renaissance Faire. Lots of work for a 4 days dressing up in clothing that is really to hot for the time of year, and being silly at the park. This year I made fairy wings and helped with the Southwest Wildlife Foundation Booth with mom, it was nice getting to hang out and visit, all week with her. I got to also do Aura photos at the Faire and really had fun with them. A friend of the family loaned us her Aura camera and taught me how to use it, along with all the information on how to read the pictures. It was very interesting how different each one turned out. I also got to help dad with his birds and both Dad and Charlie got up on stage for the first time in years for both of them.

Well out of order but we spent the 4th with my family, and had a nice BBQ, then went to watch fireworks.

We all had fun with glow stick while we waited for the fire works to start!

We parked right across the street from where the fire works were being shot off, and get stiff necks looking up at them, they were so close it almost hurt the eyes, and you'd flinch when it looked like they would rain down on you. I got a ton of gorgeous pictures, and everyone really enjoyed it.

The Saturday after, we went for a family road trip to meet some friends in Mesquite for lunch and then stopped in St. George to let the kids play.

After a fun day of play we went out to check out a local drum circle, they didn't do much playing that night, but the kids enjoyed themselves and the people were nice, we've been invited by several members to come again, and will most likely go out to visit the next time we are able.

Well only a month of summer left and so much to do still, I have a new job as a scrub tech that I get to train for, I need to get the stuff taken care of so I can apply to more nursing schools, I really want to take the kids up the mountain for picnics and hiking, and at least one camp out this summer, haven't been camping since I had kids, its about time we teach them the joys the outdoors. I'm looking forward to the rest of summer, and hope to really enjoy and fun and relaxing next month.
